Greetings from Fredericktown Elementary School,
The beginning of every school year is exciting. School buildings are clean, inviting and well-organized. As the year progresses and we all are involved with the education of boys and girls, the building is no longer spotless and quiet. It gets busy and the very air is energized. Our teachers and staff are very proud of our students and their performance on local and state exams.
We are also very aware that school is not just about passing state-mandated tests. The children are central to our school, and we want them to learn much more than how to take tests well. It is important for all of us to learn how to relate well to each other, to be safe at school, to respect others' opinions, and to learn how to play sports, sing, use technology to answer questions, write neatly and legibly, and a whole host of other "untested" skills.
Parents, friends, and guests are welcome in our building. Please come to the office first; we'll give you a tour of and information about our school. This is the community's school, and we welcome visitors and volunteers.
Our Elementary Building has received an Excellent rating from ODE every year since 2006.
During the 2009-2010 school year Fredericktown Elementary was awarded the National Blue Ribbon designation.
Our Outdoor Learning Lab provides many opportunities for creative, outdoor, hands-on activities.
We utilize several technological educational programs including Fast ForWord, and Head Sprout.
Parents may have internet access to students' daily and periodic grades.
Regular contact is maintained with parents through parent bulletins, phone calls, special and planned meetings, Intervention Teams, and e-mail.
A school nurse oversees routine health matters and helps with emergencies.
Special education students are provided necessary services including speech and language services, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and nursing services as needed.
